Operation and maintenance costs for stations in the USGS streamgaging network in Missouri are funded through:

the USGS Cooperative Water Program via joint-funding agreements between State or local agencies and the USGS;
funding agreements with other federal agencies; and
allocations from USGS headquarters of funds appropriated by Congress specifically for support of USGS data-collection activities.

The USGS is committed to alerting the State’s water-resources community of the impending loss of funding as soon as those situations become known. Any stakeholders who are particularly concerned about the loss of these gages are encouraged to contact the USGS to discuss potential funding sources to continue these gages.
