The Riverfront Site is located in New Haven, Missouri about 40 miles west of St. Louis, Missouri. The Remedial Investigation (RI) of the Riverfront Site is being conducted under the Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation, and Liability Act (or CERCLA). The U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) is the principal investigator for this Riverfront Remedial Investigation.

The primary objective of the Riverfront Site Remedial Investigation (RI) is to determine the extent and magnitude of tetrachloroethene (PCE) contamination in ground water, surface water, and soils at the Riverfront Superfund site.

The New Haven RI is funded by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (USEPA) and the U.S. Geological Survey with the cooperation of the city of New Haven and its residents.
